Alienation

Can I sue A man For alienation of affection. My Wife and I are still together, but she left me for awhile and had an affair with another man who had been pursuing her for a coule of years.Also when she returned there has been no affection at all.

You can definitely file a lawsuit against this

other man for alienation of affections. Alienation of affections is a claim that can be

filed in the Illinois state court. It will be necessary to determine the damages caused by this other person in a dollar amount, but that should not be difficult. I am sure that you have witnesses, or persons who have first hand know-

ledge of your ordeal. In my opinion you should pursue this claim as soon as possible. The fact that there is no affection between you and your wife since her affair is evidence of monetary (money) damages. I will be more than happy to answer any additional questions that you might have.
