Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
child custody
I was looking to transfer to another state IL. because my kids I wanted a change and my kids father wanted to so-called be close to his family (we are not married) so I had the father of my kids go ahead of me to find a place and get us settled while I wait for a postion to open (I have 11years in the fed gov) it took seven months. During this time, he has taken the kids, will not let me know about there condition or there welfare, and has lied to his family that I gave up custody to my kids. He is moving out of his family house without letting me know anything. His father is also a lawyer and I think that he thinks because of this, I will not fight him and expose him for that person that he is.

So what is your question?
Re: child custody
I am not sure what the question is. If you want to know if you can fight for custody of your children, the answer is yes. However, you need to get started, as the more time that passes by, the more the court will think you did not want custody.
