I am dating a man who is separated the bench trial in the divorce will take place in Jan. 2018. Will my dating him come into question during the trial. He has not told anyone about me, will this affect his divorce proceedings Children are all grown

It depends. Money he spends on you may be argued to be a dissipation of the marital estate. Thus it is subtracted from his share of the estate.
