Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

My employer granted a 2 week leave when I adopted my son, and now wants documentation about this adoption. Do I need provide proof?

If you are seeking benefits under the law for family leave, I would think you would have to provide some type of proof. Otherwise, everyone could claim they were adopting a child and take time off.
