Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

A friend of mine has a swimming pool that her boy friend bought her as a gift. She doesn't own the property the pool is on it belongs to her land lord. She broke up with her boyfriend and now he wants reimbursed for the pool. Does she have to pay him?
