Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

My husband and I are getting a fairly agreeable divorce in Illinois. We do not want to sell our home right now as the market in our area is terrible. We would like for me to live there and sell in a few years. We would like to get a divorce, yet co own the house with the agreement of selling or someone buying out in two years. Can we do this?

Sure, there is no requirement that individuals be married to own real estate together. You might want to have an attorney draft a partnership agreement so there is no "confusion" when the time comes to sell.
