Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Inheritance money

Back when i was 17 my dad died and i inherited 250,000. Alot of it went to costs after the death but I put 150,00 in investments and had another 23,000 or so leftover. Because i wasnt 18 yet my mom put it in a bank account with both of our names on it. Once i turned 18 i started pulling money out of the account and my mom closed down the account and put it in a 6month CD. The 6 months is up now and she still refuses to give me money that is mine. Im no longer living at home and the money has become sort of a neccesity to me, when she doesnt even need it. What can i do to get my money back?

Re: Inheritance money

You need to sue your mother and get a court to order her to turn over the money. Let me know if you have any more questions.
