Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

I'm in the middle of a divorce case it has been pending since 2013.I have a lawyer that put a petition for temporary child support and maintenance support but I have yet to receive anything. This was about 8 months ago!! What should I do? My ex has been giving me money but no where near Guidelines for child support.Is my lawyer not doing what she supposed to or do these things take this long?
