Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

I purchased my home before we were married. We did add a second floor during our marriage & refinanced so now the mortgage is in both our names. Is my home still not considered marital property or did that change with the refinance?

Sounds like the house is marital property to me, however, a lot will depend on when the house was purchased and why. Also the court will look at each party's respective contribution to the improvements, mortage, taxes and upkeep during the marriage.
