Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
I let my sons go to school where his father lives in another county we made a verbal agreement that he would come home to get ready for high school in the 8th grade but when i went to get my son his father got an order of protections claiming he didnt know were he was. he's never even establish peternity or anything ,anyhow the order was dropped and then the judge proceeded to telling me that he's going to order a Gal and that i would have to help pay for it ,i want to know ,if im in court for an civil case can the judge give an order that needs to be taken care of in family court?

The Judge can order you to stand on your head if he wants.
The proceeding your involved in is dealing with issues of legal custody, residential custody, visitation, and ultimately child support. I highly recommend getting an attorney if you are having a GAL appointed. Any legal fees would hopefully be recouped in finally getting child support from what you describe anyway.
