Legal Question in Medical Leave in Illinois
My employer is asking me to sign write ups for intermittent FMLA that I am taking. It is a standard write up form. The form says employee called off scheduled shift due to FMLA.They say the reason they are doing this is to keep track of how many days I take.Should I not be signing them? Can they take these days against me when it comes time for our annual review?

Are these "write ups" for discipline or to track your time off? You need to ask the employer for clarification. An employer, under the FMLA, can require you to follow its usual call in procedures for time off unde intermittent FMLA but cannot discipline you for exercising your rights to time off pursuant to the FMLA.
