Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Illinois
an ex friend gave me money too pay a fine, she stated I did not need to repay, we aren't friends anymore, now she is threatening too sue, she has nothing in writing about repaying and I have nothing stating it was a gift, what will happen if this goes too court, doesn't she have burden of proof?

If she brings an action in court, yes she will have the burden of proof. A case like this comes down to credibility--who will the judge believe based upon all the evidence (testimony, documents, etc).
