How do you know your lawyer is making side deals with the defendant? What is the basis of the claim you are making? If you have coherent, tangible and solid proof of such a an act, you can report the attorney to the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission. Otherwise, it is not a good idea to go and accuse your attorney of unethical behavior since you may be opening up yourself to a cause of action based on defamation.

You can drop your attorney at any time for any reason. You are responsible to pay him or her for all the work he or she has done so far on your case plus all the expenses he or she has incurred.

It would however be a mistake to represent yourself. You should speak with an attorney and interview a few until you find one that you can trust.
