Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Illinois

We live in Georgia. My stepdaughters real dad died. His stepfather and ex-girlfriend went to the coroner and had his body donated to the Biological Resource Center in Illinois for research and cremation. They signed a release form as if they were next of kin. My wife (his ex-wife) found out and contacted the Resource Center to tell them our daughter, who is 18 was the next of kin. We had to fill out paperwork and send birth certificate and social security number as proof. We are being sent the remains now. The ex-girlfriend, who has an 18 month old baby with the deceased, is now trying to put a restraining order on the remains. What is the best way to address this situation?
