taking way too long in IL

hello

i had a business partner rip me for for about $15,000. i hired an atty to get the case started over two years ago and he hasnt even been served yet. i have told the atty numerous times where the guy is located, so we know where he is. i have called and called, and left messages, but still no response. any suggestion on what i should do? thanks.

Send an certified mail with return receipt requested and ask your attorney in writing the status of the case and that he provides you with a written response on why the defendant has not yet been served even though you have given him the whereabouts of the defendant. Give him two weeks from the date of the receipt of the letter to respond.

If he doesn't, then get yourself another lawyer.
