Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Illinois
Is a verbal agreement binding in the state of Illinois? Would emails and voice mail, showing the intent to pay, be enough evidence to show that an agreement was made in a small claims court? How about emails from others around the situation, mentioning their awareness of an agreement, even thought they were not there when the agreement was made?
Thank you.

A verbal agreement is valid unless the agreement is the subject of the Stututs of Frauds. Depending o nthe nature of the emails, this might actually constitute a written contract. I suggest that you consult with an attorney.
