Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Illinois
As I was walking my leashed dog we were attached by pit bull. The pit bull broke free from a chain, from the owners front yard. My dog had to go to the vet for bites and required stitches in the jaw. I too was bit by the dog, and was told by Animal Control to go to the doctor for a tetanus shot. Now the owner will not pay the vet bills ($150.00 or my doctor bill $25.00 Co-pay. The pit bull was put down by Animal Control. Police reports were made, and the owner plead guilty and paid a small fine. What can I do?
