Legal Question in Immigration Law in Illinois

I graduated high school, I've been married to a US citizen for 2.5years and have a 30 month old child. I've been here for 20yrs and have no criminal background. If i graduate college will that help me get my green card faster. I am here with no permision what-so-ever what can I do?

You should consult a lawyer directly. It's not clear how did you enter the USA (have you ever had a visa)? I understand that now you are in USA illegally and have been living illegally for 20 years.

If married to a US citizen, you might be able to obtain a visa (green card) by going abroad and applying at the US Consulate. However, departing the USA will trigger a 10-year inadmissibility bar, and a waiver will be required.

As to your school/college degree, it doesn't have much bearing on your situation and eligibility for a green card if you came to USA illegally.
