Legal Question in Immigration Law in Illinois

My I-130 petition for alien relative was approved. in autumn i have to have an interview. last summer i was in usa and was back home in time.

i want to apply for a tourist visa and visit my father this summer. i know it is hard to get a non-immigrant visa while you're waiting for an immigrant one. BUT i want to try. the question is - what if i get a refusal, will it hurt my I-130 process?? like the 2 visas conflict or no?

thank you so much!

Yes, you can apply for a visitor's visa. If approved, you can visit for up to 6 months. It wouldn't hurt pending I-130 unless you lie or misrepresent facts in your visitor's visa application.
