Is there any way to waive the Affidavit of Support for the k-1 (fiance) visa application?

No, it can't be waived. A US citizen petitioner must sponsor a foreign fiancee by using the I-134 form of the affidavit of support to prove that a fiancee will not become a "public charge". Some US embassies can allow to proceed without this form, and can accept a bank letter, employment and tax information, etc. However, most consulates would require the actual affidavit of support, plus supporting documents.
