Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Illinois

Our non-profit association publishes both a scientific journal and a newsmagazine. We keep the materials used to create each issue in an off-site storage facility. How long should we store these materials once an issue has been published?

Generally, there are no time requirements for storage of such materials if they are not subject of any litigation or government investigations. If they are, then you must preserve and produce such materials during that lititgation or investigation, or any agreed time period as a result of that litigation or investigation.
