Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois
My 18 year old son just started working for a restaurant as a waiter. He accidently spilled soup a couple of drops landed on a customer. said customer was okay with it. Employers manager proceded to give the whole table their meals for free and now the employer has told my son that 50 dollars will be coming out of his pay check to cover the bill. Is this leagal to do in the State of IL.?

No, this is not allowed. This is an example of what Illinois law deems to be an illegal deduction from an employee's pay.
