Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois
Applied to unemployment a month ago do to me being fired they said my request was denied. now I have to appeal. Dont know what to do know should I waste my time? Thanks !

It depends upon why you were discharged. If your employer claims "miscoduct," initial denials on this basis are often overturned on appeal. The law requires a deliberate act on your part for misconduct. If, for example, you were late a few times and the employer cannot show you did this on purpose, then you get benefits. I would advise having an attorney familiar with IDES help you.
