Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

i was in an auto accident in june of this yr, i was drinking, but was not on my job, i was in my personal truck, i broke the 2 and 3rd vertibrey in my neck and was in the hosp for a while, i went to court and received a dui, but also got a work permit, my place of imployment paid me up intil last wk, in my check was a letter saying i was fired, can they do this, i am still under a drs care, thank you, kevin casner

I am very sorry to hear about your accident and iunjury. I'm guesssing by what you described, you will have lifetime pain and limitations. This could qualify you fo rprotection under the ADA. If your employer fired you because of the time you took off frm work, and you are protected under the ADA, the terminaiton could be unlawful.
