Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois
I called in sick. I was told that I wasn't allowed to because I did not give the proper notice. However, I have documents showing that I did. I was taken off of my work schedule and could not come back until I had a meeting with the executive director. When I had the meeting the executive director and my direct supervision, along with a new supervisor sat me in a room, and wanted me to defend why I called off. I felt as though I was in a hostile work environment. Not only that, I also felt as though the executive director was not an impartial third party. She brought about allegations from a month ago and even a year... She has place me on suspension until she can 'figure out what to do' which in my opinion, it is looking like termination.... is this legal?

You need to provide more information. You wrote that you "called in sick." Were you sick? Did you have a serious illness that is verifiable by a physician? If so, your employer cannot retaliate against you.
