Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois
Cease & Desist confidential information - my former employer issued me a cease & desist letter for having electronic confidential information in my possession. They asked that I delete the information and send confirmation having done such. The letter also makes other accusations that are not entirely true but does not ask for any action on my part on them. Am I ok to send confirmation that I have deleted the confidential information? Or would this also show I accept the other points made in the letter?

If you have a concern about your former employer ever suing you, you should show the entire letter to an attorney and get legal advice. Answers on a forum like this are NOT legal advice.
If you are comfortable that once you confirm the deletion of the electronic records, your former employer will drop the matter, then confirming that you have done may be the wise move.
Without seeing the entire letter, it is impossible to say for certain whether simply confirming the deletion of the electronic records would imply acceptance of the other allegations in the letter. Normally, I would not expect that to be the case. However, you can override any such implication by clearly stating that you deny the other allegations and that confirming that you have deleted the records is not to be interpreted as acknowledging any of the other claims made in the letter.
The best advice, though, is to run your response by your attorney.
