Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

If I develop a product while working at a company and then I resign, does the company own the product or do I? Can I still make and sell this product or something similar?

If you were paid by your employer and developed a product for the employer, the employer owns the patent unless you have a specific agreement providing otherwise.
