Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois
I was diagnosed wirh cancer in november, my work (fire station) made me sign off on my health insurance because I was taking family medical leave act..stating that I had no sick or vacation time left, therefore no longer eligable for benefits...six days after diagnosis. My husband thankfully was able to cover us through his job. His company after a few months questioned why I had to change so quickly, when I explained they informed me that I had three months. I then questioned my superior and my insurance was reinstated for the three months that I was owed. I had expenses that were not nessecary and was given no explaination as to why they cancelled me.
I have since gone back to work. My salary was changed to hourly, my vaction and sick days shortened, lost my office and now sit at a desk doing nothing!
The benefits that I have chosen to reinstate with them have still not been done.
Should I talk to someone.

Sorry to hear about your plight. It would seem that they have discriminated against you in some fashion because of your illness. It may make sense to talk to something as there seems to be many moving parts here. My email is [email protected]
