Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

I am a District Manager for a retail company. I am being told that if I don't get a personal cell phone, so that I can be reached by work at any time, that I will lose my title. Can my employer do this and is it legal to ask me to create a personal bill?

It sounds to me like your company is forcing you to pay for equipment/tools. This may or may not be legal depending on the facts of your situation. However, I suggest being careful in how you handle this since you are a mid-level manager with this company.
