Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

I drive a truck for a living. Recently I got a DUI and my license got suspended for about 6 weeks til I went to court. The DUI had gotten squashed, do to wrongful stop. I was verbally told by my supervisor to take the time off til I find out what was going on with my license, and was never formally fired nor lost my medical insurance during that time of suspension. So, I get my license back fully reinstated like it never happened. Now im told by my supervisor to come in and fill out an application and do the psyc test and come in as new hire. Mind you i've been working for this company for 23 years, making nearly 100K a year for the last 10 years. I'm am just wondering what kind of legal rights that I do have since I just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time, and since the cop had no reason to pull me over. My main boss had said that I was techinically not an employee at time of the suspension. If the cop would have not pulled me over this would of never happened. Thank You, Brian

There are many things going on here. With respect to your job, you mention a "psych" test. An employer is very strictly limited by the ADA in what kind of medical testing it can require of applicants and employees. This is a highly technical area. Please send us a confidential email so we can set up a time to talk.
