When does employment insurance end

Two week written notice placed with employer on 12/4, indicating that 12/18 (end of business would be end of employment. On 12/5 Employer indicates that at the end of the day 12/5 would would be the end of employment. They said they would pay the two weeks.

My question is, when does the normal medical insurance coverage end, 12/18 or 12/5? I am aware of extended Cobra coverage, but need to know if the normal coverage still in effect until 12/18.

Your employee benefit manual or Summary Plan Description would be the appropriate source of this information. Sometimes the Plan will extend benefits to the end of the month , other times it will terminate on the last day of your employment.
