Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

I was forced to quit my job because my boss was abusive (for example, I was required to work more than 40 hours a week but was not allowed to clock the extra time or to receive overtime pay) and was going to fire me if I didn't quit. If I were fired, I could not be rehired for a different position at the same company, so I quit. Now my unemployment claim is being contested by the company because I "voluntarily" left my job. Do I have legal grounds to collect unemployment insurance?

You should contact an experienced employment attorney right away. Although you might not be entitled to unemployment, you are entitled to back pay, penalties, and attorney fees for the unpaid overtime.
