Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois
Hello,
I am a 50% Disabled US Veteran, who is seeking legal advice, legal service, expertise or personnel opinion. In 2002, I was employed by Homeland Security/Transportation Security Administration as a Screening Supervisor and notified them of my disability as I was employed by them right after 9/11. I received my Veteran Preference which was 10 points / Compensable 30%. In 2006, my military disability injury had been flaring up and was causing me intense pain. And during that time TSA had a Black-Out week period where if you called off you must present a doctors note, I had taken two days off due to intense back pain. Upon my return, I provided documentation showing that I went to the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center. And after this incident I was being harassed and mistreated till the point that I was terminated from my job as a Disabled Veteran. I have conducted an EEOC complaint and just this month April 5th, 2010 I was told that the Agency made a final decision stating that there was no wrong doing on their part. Now I seek to appeal their decision but I would need your help in this matter whether it be your knowledge or a referral, I would highly appreciate it!
Thank you
Juan Figueroa- US Disabled Veteran (US AIR FORCE)
