Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

Hello,

I am writting because I am in a position where I do not know what to do. I have been with my company for over 2 years. It a small compnay. Me, the owner, and the warehosue worker. It was all fine until about a few months ago. My boss started getting hostile when I would ask him regular routine questions. Now I am still pretty young (22 yr female) and this is one of the best paying jobs with great benefits I have ever had. The only thing is now that the way my boss treats me makes me uncomfortable. He has be yelling very loud in my face and arguing with me over routinely asked questions. I have approached him a few times about this and all he says is sorry. He has yet to stop. I know the obvious answer is to find a new job. This job is 5 mins from my home and I dont not have a reliable car. I am just wondering if there are any specific rights I have in the work place where I can kindly approach him to make this stop? I really do not want to quit but this environment is starting to affect my life outside my work place. Im starting to get depressed and I do not know what to do. Any advise would help me. Thank you for looking this over.

Your situation sounds very stressful. Do you have any idea what triggered such a drastic change in your boss' interactions with you? Do you have any reason to believe he is interested in you sexually? The Illinois Human Rights Act (IHRA) prohibits sexual harassment as well as other forms of discrimination. The IHRA applies to Illinois employers with 15 or more employees BUT the prohibition against sexual harassment applies to ALL employers. I'm happy to email with you privately or speak with you.
