Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois
Hi.I have question about my job.I worked with guy who does electrical,HVAC contract since july 31 until september
1st.He hired me for $110 a day.During this time he didn't pay me single penny.I was driving 60-70 miles every day and
sometimes paid for parking in downtown($12 a day) and sometimes worked from 8 am to 7 pm.For whole month no
money. He always says that he doesn't have money, when he gets money then pay. Then I got sick and couldn't go to
work on september 1st, and afternoon of that day I got fired. So I told him that pay my money, then he got mad angry
and started harassing me by text mes.(You don't deserve this fucking money...,You lazy animal.....something like
that). Then he said he will charge me $1000 because I screwed his schedule. Then I asked him again when you gonna
pay me?.He said you'll be paid as last one.I don't know when that last would be? He has 4 employees except
me.Everybody hasn't been paid for long time. What should I do?

You are entitled by law to be paid at least every other week at the rate agreed upon. Charging you $1000 because you screwed his schedule or for whatever reason related to you missing work is unlawful. Now, please do yourself a favor and contact a qualified employment attorney. Many of us will give you an initial consultation at no charge.
