Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois
My job was elimated as my department is being downsized from 3 to 2 providers. I was told that I HAD to retire, no other options. I have great reviews from both my collaborating physicians. But the clinic won't release me from my "no compete" clause-meaning I can't work anywhere else within 100 miles.

Something does not sound right here. Please do yourself a favor and contact a qualified employment attorney. Make sure who you contact has experience negotiating releases from non-competes. We cannot directly solicit your business here but most employment attorneys can be contacted by email and will offer an initial case evaluation at no charge.
