The employer can change your rate of pay without consent if such change does not violate an employment agreement, collective baregaining agreement, or minimum wage laws. There are a few issues here that should be explored.
Overtime: Even though you are on salary, you might be entitled to overtime pay. Do you work overtime? Are you being paid for all hours worked over 40?
Notice of Rate of Pay and Method of Compensation: Your employer is required to inform you of the method and manner as well as the rate of pay for your work, prior to you undertaking the work. Did your employer do this?
