Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois
A position became open for a manager position that previously reported to me (Director level) but now reports to a VP. However, the position is still closely related to my position. A job description/announcement was written and posted internally that states, "a strong candidate could be in a succession pieline to the US Director role", which is my role. This "succession" language is not included in any of our other 19 positions posted internally. Is this discrimination, and if so, what legal recourse do I have?

There is unlawful and lawful discrimination. You do not mention on what protected basis you think this discrimination is based on--your sex, sexual orientation, race, color, national origin, disability. Please provide more information.
