Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois
I was recently fired from my job for not meeting sales metrics but was told prior to being fired that they would give me 6 months to improve my sales metrics.I was also waiting to get my FMLA approved for my brain condition it was approved the next week but the next month I was then fired.I went to file for unemployment and was denied my benefits stating that I was fired for misconduct.I then had to bring my paperwork into the unemployment office showing that I was fired for not meeting the metric so then I was given my benefits. Also I'm concerned about getting fired for not meeting my metric for 2 months when I personally know several individuals that are still with the company who has not consistantly met there metrics.I was informed by many individuals that Comcast is now offering people the option to take severance packages or to relocate to another call center I feel that I should have also been given that same option since there were others who were on write up's that were offered the package.I feel that they wanted to fire some people with seniority so that there would be less individuals they would have to offer the severance package I feel that I dedicated 8 1/2 years with the company and I feel that I deserved to have been given the same options.Do you feel that I have a legitimate lawsuit?

It sounds ot me that your termination may have been motivated by your medical condition. Many factors go into deterimining if you have legally viable claims. From what you have written, however, you raise questions that must be explored. I am happy to speak with you about your potential claims.
