Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

i was terminated for misconduct. I complained to managenent two times because an employee was harassing me, saying things like I'm going to kick you in the head. but when i yelled out i am going to kick your ass i was let go. Why was I let go and not the other employee?

Just because the other employee started the unprofessional behavior does not mean your employer won't fire you if you participate in such conduct yourself. Unfortunately you do not provide enough details for me to determine why you were originally harassed and if there is protection for you pursuant to anti-discrimination laws.
