Is there anything I can do about unemployment over payment when it's my fault due to wrong wage reporting? How can I avoid fraud penalties?

It depends on whether or not the over payment was due to a true mistake or with the intent to be dishonest and defraud. IDES has a process by which you can request them to waive their right to recoup overpayment unless you received the overpayment because of your own fraud. IDES has rolled out a program to aggressively prusue recoupment of benefits wrongly paid because of the the reporting party;s fraud.
