Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois
Worked for an owner operator out of IL. and on our last run my wife had a stroke while on the truck and i had to put her in the hospital in Las Vages NV. Owner fired me because of time wife had to stay in the hospital. He now refuses to pay me the over $4000.00 he owes me for work completed. The load i was on when wife got sick was completed. Called Owner and company to let them know what was going on. Company sent another driver to pickup load and deliver it. Do I have any recourse in getting the money that i was not paid.

You should thoroughly review the cpontract you had with the company, first. Then you should place a demand in writing for what you are entitled to receive, referncing the specific contractual provision regarding payment.. If you are still not paid, you should consider brining an action in court for what is owed to you.
