Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

I have been working at a company for the past year. The company recently was bought 2 weeks ago. I made a $12 dollars an hour and they recently cut my hours down to 8 for one week, I am 26 years old and I live on my own with my girl friend who doesn't make much money. I asked them why guys who had only been here a month were getting more hours than me (they make $10 an hour) and they were getting four days when I was getting one. They told me the only way I was going to work was if I took a pay cut and went down to $10 and hour and took an hour decrease. I want to know what I should do I haven't given them an answer and I don't know if I would be applicable for unemployment. I was working 50 hours a week before the company was bought. I haven't quit or been fired I want to know what I should and can do.

A drastic reduction in your rate of pay because of wage decrease or hours scheduled to work will entitle you to unemployment.
