Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Illinois

i have a contract for deed in the state of Illinois.. and when i went to pay my taxes i came to find out that the Sellers name is not on the deed at all. it states in the contract that they are in fact owners of the home/property. Does this make the contract null and void and also does it give them the right to just kick us out at any point in time. we have already contacted them about this and they said they would get it fixed and now they are saying that they can not contact one of the actual owners....please help i don't have the kind of money to pay any sort of deposit on a new place

Did you have a lawyer help you with this transaction before you signed this contract for deed? If so, then this is something you need to discuss with that lawyer. I not, then it appears this is a scam. If the person to whom you are paying money is not the owner, then the true owner can have you removed from the property. You need to hire a lawyer to help you with this!!!
