Retrieve personal belongings from ex-fiance

Hi, How do I legally retrieve my belongings from my ex-fiances place of resident. I live in Lansing, Illinois now. He lives in Hebron, Indiana where my personal belongings are.

The best thing is to just ask and bring a friend if you are concerned about trouble. You can go as far as getting a court order to allow you to collect your belongings with the help of the Sheriff's office, but that will take time and money. Also, since you were not married, you will probably need to go through an Indiana court.
