Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Illinois
eye problam
this problem began in 1999. Iwas treated for one eye problem which did clear up. I was to return in June of2000 for a follow up. The problem returned but this time I saw a different doctor who said I had lost all my vison in my right eye due to Glaucoma. He also stated that he thought this could have been provented. The 1st. doctor never told me anything concerning my pressure or any mention of Glacoma. Since then I have also been dianosed with cancer in my left eye.

You may well have a case where you may be entitled to compensation for any mistakes the first doctor has committed. The only way to find out is to get the medical records and to see what they show and whether they show that the first doctor failed to follow the standard of care for that type of doctors in this community. There is no other way to tell you what needs to be done next. Stature of limitation begins to run from the time you realize, or you should have realized, you may have a cause of action.
I know this is not much of an answer, but with what you have written, is the best I can do. If you need further assistance, don't hesitate to call me.

We would be pleased to review the medical records of your unfortunate series of events to attempt to determine if there has been medical malpractice. However, cases of this type must be brought within the statute of limitations, which may be soon to expire. Please consult with an attorney promptly. Also, this response does not constitute an agreement to represent you, and until a signed contact is agreed upon, no such representation exists.
