Legal Question in Military Law in Illinois

Divorce question

I have a friend that is going through a divorce, in the paper work it states that he is to recieve the truck that his wife was using when he was deployed. However, a piece of paper was signed stating that she could keep it but that decision was made on false pretenses. Obviously the divorce work is noterized and the piece of paper isnt, and there is no proof on it really. She is trying to sue him over the piece of paper. Is that legal? Will it hold up in court?

In any litigation, for a document to be placed in evidence it must be authenticated. This can be by a number of means. Based on what you have said it would not be admitted into evidenced and, if it did, it most likely would be impeached as being unreliable.
