If this is a discovery deposition, there is no prohibition on mentioning that information. However, if your attorney does not want you to, I am sure there is a reason, so ask.

There is no laws against talking about insurance during a discovery deposition. However, if this was an evidence deposition (one that was going to be read to the jury during trial) the law prohibits mentioning insurance because the insurance companies have been able to get the legislature to pass a law prohibiting the mention of insurance so that the jury does not think that: "oh well...it's the insurance who is paying so let's just find in favor of the plaintiff."
