Legal Question in Personal Injury in Illinois

I filed for a chapter 7 bankruptcy in September, I have not finished paying the attorney to complete the bankruptcy. I was recently injured at work on October 16, 2011 with a head and neck injury, I am off work and collecting work mans comp for now, I have an appointment to see a neurologist for my injuries on November 17,2011. I received a letter from work mans comp stating with my injuries I can return to work on November 15th when I already informed them that I have not been released from my doctor because I have not seen the neurologist yet. So I am searching for a lawyer on what to do. My question is if I obtain a lawyer and receive a settlement for my injuries will my bankruptcy take my settlement?

your worker's comp claim is an asset and needs to be listed in the bk. you should contact your bk lawyer and advise him/her. as far as an illinois worker's comp lawyer there are several very good ones: patricia lannon 312 236 5412 in chicago (very experienced and one of the best); robb stokar 312 636 1741 (younger but also takes care of buisness).

good luck and do get a workers comp lawyer. the fee is 20% and well worth it.
