Legal Question in Personal Injury in Illinois

Is a school held liable is your child is injured during outside play at school? He is 17 and will NEVER be able to work in the bus field he has been working in.He was playing touch football during school when he was violently tackled and tore every muscle and ligament in his knee. Now having to have knee surgery , he can no longer climb ladders or stand on high pitched roof, nor can he kneel down to perform roofing, in which is his profession. he was to take over the family bus. now he cannot even perform.School says their insurance only covers what your doesnt, but what about the career that he will not be able to have.

If your son voluntarily engaged in the sport, the school district will have substantial defenses. As to the other student who physically tackled your son during a 'touch' football game, you may have a better claim. A lot will depend on the circumstances behind the game. If this was a school authorized game or practice, and your son is on the football team, then you have an uphill fight.
